At the beginning, many people spoke old languages in several places over world and time moved slowly to conform a full language in structural and semantics aspects.

Thus, English was not an exceptional case because it was born from Germanic languages many anglospeakers spoke at the north of Europe what we can call Scandinavian  and  Britain places.
